In Hungary those notaries, who speak a foreign language at a certain level can obtain the right to draft documents in foreign languages. I am one of those notaries who have the right to work in English. All Hungarian notaries are civil law notaries, so they are trained lawyers with a minimum 6 years practice, and with a Bar exam (with very few exemptions). We prepare deeds mainly regarding bank loans, prepare wills, conveyances and generally almost all types of contracts and instruments. We also deal with areas like Property law, Family Law, Successions, Deeds and conveyances, including mortgages and refinancing, builder liens. We have practice in corporate law, we can assist companies from foundation, to liquadition. We deal with Probate procedure, and different kind of certificates. (Including attestations of signatures, affidavits, statutory declarations, certified true copies, authorization of minor child travel, proof of identity) Protest of Bill of Exchange is also our task. Hungarian civil procedure law gives extra executory force and probative value to the notarial instruments, so they are often used in different cases. Notaries are impartial, and independent, so they have to take care for the interests of all the parties involved.

Before being a notary I practiced as a general practitioner for more than 6 years, then I worked for more than one year as a company lawyer. Later I obtained a degree “Master of Law of International Business Law”. I have 3 specialist degrees in Foreign Trade law, in Bank Law and in European Law. Now I participate on a course for American Law Studies.
I studied 3 months in Case Western Reserve Law School Cleveland Ohio, two months in a city law office in London, and a month in Brussels and Strassburg at the European Union.
For 9 Year I was the member of the Presidential Board of the Hungarian Notaries, and a member of different international committees, eg. Social Security Committee and Informational Committee.
